GLOBAL WARMING

Action Steps

There are things each of us can do to deal with Global Warming.
We can promote and politically support the prudent viable choices for energy production.

  1. Support initiatives to broadly implement energy efficiency measures as a first choice for public and private expenditures on energy.
  2. Support the development and deployment of low carbon renewable sources of energy as a second choice for expenditures.
  3. Support a moratorium on the construction of new coal plants.

We can take responsibility to make a difference in our personal lives by:

  1. Deciding to take a leadership role in dealing with this issue.
  2. Doing our part to put our own house (literally) in order by taking reasonable steps to reduce our own carbon footprint, thus walking the walk we are talking and adding credence to our calls for action.
  3. Having a serious, heart to heart conversation with all of our friends and loved ones, sharing with them what we have learned, clearly stating why we are convinced that action must be taken now, and asking them to help protect our world from this potential catastrophe.
  4. Commit your talents to help groups in your region who are fighting proposed plants in their area.
  5. Engage in all forms of political influence at the local, state, and/or national level in support of efficiency, renewables, and a moratorium on new coal plants.
